Security Camera Approved By City CouncilPosted on September 11, 2008The Pulaski Board of Mayor and Aldermen voted Tuesday to purchase a camera and digital recording equipment to maintain a constant watch over the bronze statue to be located at the Trail of Tears Interpretive Center. The surveillance equipment will keep a watchful eye out for vandals who may attempt to deface the $80,000-$90,000 statue. The digital recording equipment to be used will allow the city to connect and record from a total of 20 cameras. The city currently has two other cameras in service. US rapper Kanye West was arrested after grabbing a photographer's camera and smashing it on the ground at Los Angeles International Airport.
The Los Angeles police department said the nine-time Grammy Award winner was arrested on suspicion of vandalism after the commercial photographer's camera valued at over $US10,000 ($12,500) was broken.
An airport spokesman, Marshall Lowe, said West and his bodyguard, Don Crowley, were arrested shortly before 8am local time (1am AEST today)
