HYDERABAD: Twenty20 cricket has brought in many innovations outside the field to pep up its entertainment value. The cheerleaders and music are among these but ICL in its third edition will go one step ahead with two fascinating innovations that will entertain the crowd.
One innovation will be outside the playing area as the sky camera makes its appearance, moing from one sightscreen to the other, capturing all possible angles of action in the middle. This is expected to give a new dimension to cricket viewing.
'This is the first of its kind in cricket,' reckoned former Indian medium-pacer and assistant coach of Chennai Superstars, Karsan Ghavri.
'This will take cricket close to top football coverage where the sky camera is employed in top matches.' The cricket leagues have become so regular and competitive and one of the models before them is the EnglishPremier League. Small wonder then, the administrators are looking for changes that will make it as popular as football, undoubtedly the most popular sport.
The second innovation is planned, partly on the field but its execution will be mostly outside the boundary
