IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. - Animal Planet recently aired documentary footage of an encounter, chase and capture of a black rhinoceros in Zimbabwe.
The documentary footage was filmed by 1979 Iron Mountain High School graduate John Helgren, an international wildlife cinematographer.
The footage was originally filmed for the nationally syndicated outdoor program 'The Outdoorsman.'
While on safari in Africa shooting an episode for the program with producer Buck McNeely, the team encountered a baby black rhinoceros, a very rare and endangered species, Helgren said
